Dawoud Bey
Dawoud Bey is a photographer and educator whose portraits of people, many from marginalized communities, compel viewers to consider the reality of the subjects’ own social presence and histories. His recent projects examine sites of African American history and the ways those histories intersect with the present.
Joachim Pissarro
Art historian, theoretician, curator, and educator Joachim Pissarro is director of the Hunter College Galleries and Bershad Professor of Art History at Hunter College. He has held positions at the Dallas Museum of Art, Kimbell Art Museum, MoMa, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Royal Academy of London, and the Yale University Art Gallery. Notable exhibitions Pissarro curated include Pioneering Modern Painting: Cézanne and Pissarro 1865–1885 (2005) and Out of Time: A Contemporary View (2006, with Eva Respini), which have toured internationally. Pissarro has served as the Editorial Director of Wildenstein Publications and is the author of numerous books, most recently, Wild Art, with art critic David Carrier and published by Phaidon Press. Pisarro is Consulting Editor of the Rail.

Bernardo Wade
Writer and artist Bernardo Wade is from New Orleans, LA. He tries at poems & rides his bike around Bloomington, IN, because IU funds his present period of studying with others. He is a Watering Hole Fellow. He also moonlights as an equity and justice advocate. He has work published or forthcoming in Hayden’s Ferry Review, New Orleans Review, Southern Humanities Review, Salt Hill Journal, Knight’s Library Magazine, and others. He is Associate Editor of the Indiana Review.
